Snow School

With one of the largest beginners areas in New Zealand, Mt Dobson is an ideal place to learn to ski or ride. Wide open slopes and lots of space makes for a relaxed fun environment – ideal for learning.

Our Snow School offers group lessons for first timers and private lessons for all levels of ability, including the disabled. Our instructors are all well qualified, and best of all, snow and teaching are their passions.

First timer group lessons start at 11am and 1:30pm with private lessons available at any time of the day. There is no need to pre-book lessons, this can be done on the day at the ski school office.

Snow School Manager – Adam “Lizard” Cuff

“With over 50 winter seasons teaching, supervising and training this is still my major passion. I was New Zealand Ski Instructor of the year and the number one instructor for Mammoth Mountain 5 years running. I skied Mt Dobson as a kid and got my first teaching qualifications working up here. I’ve been running the Mt Dobson Snow School for 10 years and it’s great to be involved with the local skiers. My staff and I strive to offer the best possible learning environment at Mt Dobson. We look forward to seeing you soon.”
