Possum Cottage

Comfortable and with character, Possum Cottage is 10 mins from Fairlie.  Situated in a farmyard setting there is lots of space and animals to entertain.  With an open fire, it is comfortable and cosy.  You can hire linens and towels otherwise bring your own, and it has everything else you would need for a stress free break away.  There are 3 bedrooms; sleeps 10+  Tariff $100 double per night, $10 each extra adult. Geraldine Retreat

This 3 bedroomed house is only 5 minutes walk from Geraldine town centre and sleeps up to 14 people. It is only 30 minutes (40km) to Mt. Dobson ski field but offers its own attractions for those few days when the weather prevents skiing.

There are a wide range of cafes, wine bars and restaurants and Geraldine even has its own cinema and upgraded heated outdoor swimming pool. There is a children's playground and skate park only 2 minutes away and there is also a golf course, tennis courts and some beautiful bush walks. From the main street it is a mere five-minute stroll into Talbot Forest - a native forest with its breathtaking views over plains and mountains. Day trips to Peel Forest, Te Moana gorge, Mt. Cook or fishing on the local rivers are a must. The Rangitata River (home of world class white-water rafting and salmon fishing) is not far away. Here you can see some of the most spectacular alpine and high country scenery in New Zealand. It's not difficult to see why Lord of the Rings producer Peter Jackson chose this superb valley as an important location in his films.

The tariff is $100 per couple per night with an additional $15 per additional adult and $5 per additional child over 5.
